Coloring Books to Fiber Arts
At the spring gathering Julia Graber gave a delightful presentation on how she has helped her grandchildren and neighborhood kids make quilts out of coloring book pages. She gave the steps on the process, intermixed with scenes from various trips and activities that make a sweet life.
The process starts with finding a simple picture, moves through the assembly process and ends with the kids quilting micro lines across the quilts. You can see from the pictures below that the kids made amazing works of art.
