She has won numerous ribbons in regional, national, and international quilt exhibitions. She was a member of the Mississippi Craftsmen’s Guild for 15 years and won the Grand Prize for excellence in workmanship at Chimneyville in 2012. Several YouTube video interviews are available to watch, and she travels for trunk shows, lectures, and classes.

  • Margie Hamilton

    LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/margaret-hamilton-84691255/

    Teaching Specialties:
I am Margaret (Margie) Hamilton, and I own Oxford Quilts. I sewed my first quilt when I was 16 and gifted it to my now husband. Trust me, it was awful. Years later, I attended a beginning quilt class at a local quilt store, and my love for quilts continues to this day. My strength is learning quilting techniques, so I rarely complete a quilt. I do like to encourage quilters on their paths of learning. I have taught classes at the store during the five years of operation as Sit N Rock. My favorite technique is paper piecing. My goals are to continue to learn and complete my many UFOs.

  • Brenda Nell Oliver

Quilts are my love — turn appliqué and machine appliqué are my passion. I have taken several classes on appliqué from national teachers and MQA teachers. I just returned from the Academy of Appliqué in Williamsburg, VA.

Teachers have their own methods and techniques. From these incredibly talented teachers, I have developed my methods. I taught classes at MQA in Summer Gatherings: crazy patch and needle turn appliqué.

I won first place in appliqué and Best of Show at the Old Man River Quilt Fest in 2017. In 2018, Now and Forever a Rainbow was accepted to be shown at the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Week in Daytona Beach, FL. At the Pine Belk Fiber Art Quilt Show in 2018, it was awarded first place in Team Mixed Techniques and the National Association Certified Quilt Judges Awards. Friend’s Love Lillibet’s Garden won second place at the Old Man River Quilt Fest in 2016. Finding Balance won first place at the Heritage Quilters of Huntsville Fanfare 2022.
